Artist’s Statement

My art work is based on personal experiences. I have been influenced by masters of visual arts, Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Alfaro Siqueiros, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, and Jackson Pollock. My style ranges from abstract to expressionism and surrealism. My inspirations comes from my Mexican heritage, dance, and global culture. I'm inspired by strong emotions and love for life. There is a lot of passion in each brushstroke, layer, and texture on each piece. My motivation for painting is the need to express and explore deep feelings. I use multimedia to produce collages incorporating upcycle materials, also fabrics and jewelry. I put my soul in every piece. "Never Stop Moving" bounds my dance career with visual arts. I use elements that have meaning adding texture, color, contrast, and balance. There is a strong influence on my dancing background and Latin roots in pieces such China Poblana and Frida. I included pieces of my real costumes and memories as a dancer. I present a fusion; painting and dance. The art pieces come alive with the matching choreography capturing the movement and expression. I live and love art. One day my dance teacher gave me and advise, this is the result of his words.
